In recent years the environmental degradation, pollution, and climate change have reached a level so serious, that it has become almost irreversible. But there is still hope to do better! The international community is actively dealing with these serious problems, using the political and legislative tools at its disposal, but to achieve concrete results in a short time we need the help of the entire world population. We need every single company- either a big corporation or small start-up as well as every individual on board.

For this reason, myWater is contributing to the fight against environmental degradation and pollution by offering safe and sustainable water hydration for people around the world. Our startup has already started to actively operate in Slovenia, in which we have started to install smart water hydration machines, which allow municipalities to provide free and clean water to everyone. By now we can proudly say that we see many big benefits in terms of decreasing water waste and the use of single-use plastic bottles. Moreover, the practical aspect is also combined with our distinguishable wooden design which manages to blend perfectly with the surrounding environment and notifies users about the water refill already from far away. This helps to keep the citizens or visitors reminded of the importance of hydration.

At the moment myWater’s goal is to spread our solution throughout Europe, mainly to the most crowded and polluted places on the continent, such as the large tourist areas and attractions that are filled with hundreds of thousands of visitors every year, thus causing enormous waste of plastic bottles. The myWater hydration station is also extremely useful in crowded closed places, such as airports, train stations, and museums, where it is in most cases the only possibility to hydrate yourself by buying single-use plastic bottled water.

One of the inspirational and encouraging stories comes from the Slovenian coastal city Koper, where in October 2020, we reached 100.00 refills which are equal to 50K liters of served local water, 9.1 tonnes of saved CO2, and 2.4 tonnes of saved single-use plastic bottles. What a number! All this shows how a small gesture and a small hardware invention can make a great contribution to more sustainable lifestyles and at the same time enormously help the environment.
